Week 1 update

Welcome superheroes!

This message goes out to all registered teams, mentors and coaches.

We are excited to kick off the 2016 Search for the Next Tech Girl Superhero. Thank you for being part of it!

Here is a short welcome video from Jewella :)

We have 95+ teams registered with over 350 girls - and still more to come (we've extended the registration deadline for another week due to many requests!). Some teams have already started a couple of weeks ago and some like you will start this week after returning from holidays. So teams, we encourage you to get started as soon as possible.

Welcome to all teams :)

Thank you to our strategic partners and supporters for helping to make this competition happen:

Our first lesson is an overview of the program and a chance to get to know each other. Teams, introduce your members to your mentor and your mentor will tell you about herself and answer your questions.

Work your way through the student and mentor workbooks and let us know if we can help you. You can find them here: http://www.techgirlsmovement.org/registration

These hints for creating a great app may be useful to discuss in your team/mentor meetings.

Now might be a good time to set up a schedule for your project - check the dates here.

Go superheroes :) Talk to you next week.

Feel free to post your journey (comments, pics, feedback) to facebook, instagram or twitter.

Bye for now.
