About the forum As our world becomes increasingly digital, the disadvantages of being offline grow greater. Promoting and encouraging the development of digital literacy skills is an essential part of empowering and assisting people to actively participate in the social, political, economic and cultural aspects of modern communities. The SLQ Digital Inclusion Forum will delve into how it is now more important than ever to develop an inclusive culture of connection and learning that aims to improve the digital capabilities of those who are disadvantaged and most affected by the digital divide.
Public libraries and Indigenous Knowledge Centres in Queensland are well positioned to participate in the development and delivery of a wide range of programs and services that seek to enhance the digital literacy of local community members. Join a dynamic conversation to share learnings, build skills and advocate greater understanding for libraries’ role in our increasingly digital world. A hands-on session will include the SLQ Digital Futures Lab and the ThinkDigital Coach, and provide opportunities for networking and experiencing a range of technologies for all ages and abilities.
