The Award for Community Engagement goes to AussieEatSafe by Windsor State School
AussieEatSafe is an App to help non-English speaking Australian’s eat safely by helping them to identify food allergies and food intolerances in Australian food items. The app allows the user to scan food labels to tell whether its safe to eat in their language and easy to read symbols. App users can choose their language, identify their allergies and intolerances, and then scan barcodes to find out whether the food contains identified allergen ingredients.
The Award for Excellence goes to Sign-Age by St Peters Lutheran College
Sign-age is an app to teach everyone who wants to know sign language, targeting kids from 9-14, Auslan. All you have to do is select your age range and create a name. You then get to go through the levels, starting with basic words such as ‘need, want and food.’ By completing more levels and activities you will unlock clothes and accessories to use on the avatar. Signage will be easy to use for children older than 8. Children under this age will be able to still use this app but are advised to be with an adult.
The Encouragement Award goes to Sleepcloud by Montello Primary School
Sleep Cloud is an app that is all about helping you to get a good night’s sleep. It has plenty of options to help users be able to relax and sleep peacefully. Some of these features include calming music, books, facts, fitness information/exercises, food/drink, fragrances and so much more.
